Does anyone have any experience touring with a folding bike?
I’ve been doing a lot of bicycling in the past few months, and I’ve been wondering about touring with a folding bike. I’m sure it would be possible, but I’m not sure what’s involved.
You may need to be more creative in terms of how you carry things on your bicycle. You may also need to take care when avoiding bridges and areas that are not flat as much as you would if you had your typical bicycle.
One way around this could be to have a small car following which carries your luggage or other important items that would otherwise get lost on tour.
I think that tour would be so much fun
I have been considering touring with my folding bike. I’m still not sure if it’s worth it to invest a lot of money in a new bike and then take the risk of getting it stolen or ruining it.
- I can stop whenever I want to for a break or lunch. Lunch wouldn’t need to be in a fussy restaurant and I wouldn’t have to worry about having enough room for the ride back home!
- I could visit lots of places that are difficult to access with a regular bicycle because there are stairs or weird terrains.
- It would take less time to pack up the bike than packing up all of the stuff
Many people choose to tour with their bikes for many types of reasons. If you are a cyclist, what type of bike will be best suited if you are choosing to go on a tour?
Ease of Storage: The ease of storing and carrying a folding bike is only one reason why they are so beneficial for touring. When you’re not using your folding bike, you can fold it up and keep it out of the way. This can save space in your home, office, or even campground site.
I’ve always thought it would be a lot of fun to tour around with my folding bike. I can take it into narrow alleys and visit parts of the city I might not see otherwise.
I could even explore parts of the city that are off-limits to motorized vehicles. It would be so cool to see the sights in new ways and meet new people!
